Team Lakay, King’s College sign MOA

Team Lakay recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Kings College of the Philippines (KCP) aiming to provide a comprehensive training program for athletes, focusing on skill enhancement, academic development, and personal growth.

Under the MOA, KCP and Team Lakay recognize the value of collaboration and knowledge – sharing to enhance the capability building of students. 

The agreement also aims to enhance skills and capabilities of athletes through comprehensive training program while providing access to world class coaching and facilities to interested students and employees.

Coach Mark Sangiao stressed that martial arts is not only fighting but foremost as a way of character growth and development.

Angeline Bugtong, KCP executive vice – president and director of the Office of the Extension Services meanwhile emphasized how important the school’s partnership with Team Lakay will be for the development of martial arts and values of the school.

KCP and Team Lakay, under the agreement will also foster collaborative environment for the continuous improvement of students’ performance.

As part of the agreement, KCP will identify interested students and employees to participate in the capability – building program, providing logistical support and coordination .

The school will also provide the necessary funds and resources for the implementation of the program and coordinate with Team Lakay on the schedule of trainings and other related activities.

KCP will also ensure that participants diligently attend all sessions while monitoring and evaluating the progress of every students.

Team Lakay meanwhile will establish and manage sports clinic and ensure quality and accessibility while developing free and comprehensive training programs tailored to the need of the students and employees in the areas of Wushu Sanshou, MMA and other related martial arts disciplines with the help of its experienced and trained coaches.

The collaboration will also include strength and conditioning programs, sports psychology sessions, and academic support for student-athletes.

Earlier this year, Team Lakay also signed a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Education – Benguet whihc aims to foster a collaborative environment for the continuous improvement of student-athletes in the areas of Wushu Sanshou, MMA, and other relevant martial arts disciplines.

The MOA also stipulates that Team Lakay will establish sports clinics in every municipality of Benguet to promote sports development and foster local talent while DepEd will provide necessary funding and resources for the implementation of training programs.
