Motivated to be signed up for the bigger stage, Carlo Von Bumina-ang sets his sight of another victory in the next installment of ONE Friday Fights at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on May 31.
The Filipino phenom Bumina-ang will face the ruthless finisher Chayan Oorzhak with both fighters squaring off at bantamweight.
Each fighter is undefeated at ONE Friday Fights, and both are undoubtedly well aware that a victory here would do wonders for their aspirations of making it to ONE’s global roster.
Bumina-ang, has quickly made a name for himself with his dynamic fighting style and relentless work ethic. Known for his agility and striking precision, Bumina-ang’s rise has been meteoric, capturing the imagination of fans with each decisive victory.
His background in traditional Filipino martial arts and boxing has given him a unique edge, allowing him to dominate opponents with both power and finesse.
While the pressure to maintain his unblemished record will undoubtedly drive him to push his limits, Team Lakay coach Mark Sangiao believes his ward is more than ready to step inside the circle.
“Carlo is fight ready. Nakita natin yung improvement nya during his last two fights nya na may knock out tsaka submission kaya sya may bonus nung huling laban,” said Sangiao.
But Bumina-ang has to get past Oorzhak if he seeks to be part of ONE’s global roster.
Oorzhak has demonstrated a formidable blend of strength, technique, and an almost predatory instinct in the ring.
His grappling skills are particularly noteworthy, often catching opponents in submissions that leave no room for escape.
Oorzhak’s three undefeated streak at ONE Friday Fights has been marked by swift and decisive victories, showcasing his ability to end fights before the final bell. When both fighters enter the ONE circle, Bumina-ang’s striking expertise and speed will be pitted against Oorzhak’s grappling prowess and brute force.
The key to victory for Bumina-ang lies in his ability to keep the fight standing and utilize his striking to wear down Oorzhak, who on the other hand will aim to close the distance, bring the fight to the ground, and apply his superior submission skills to finish the match.
