Bounce back. This will be Jean Claude Saclag’s aim when he returns to the circle in the undecard of ONE Championship’s Friday Fights 127 this Friday, October 3 in Bangkok, Thailand.
After two explosive victories in his ONE Championship outing, Saclag’s winning streak came to a halt after Shazada Ataev submitted the former Southeast Asian Games multi medalists. But that loss, as Saclag said in an earlier interview, are added motivation for him to improve his skills and hopefully secure a US $100,000 contract and a spot on ONE’s main roster.
“Dahil sa resulta ng huling laban ko lalo po akong na motivate at matutunan ang mga naging kulang ko at lalo kong mas higitan ang aking ensayo. Excited akong lumaban ulit para maipakita ko ang aking improvements,” he said.
Saclag will take on undefeated Colombian Juan Trujillo in a flyweight battle, who is curently riding on a six fight win streak with three of them by way of submission.
ONE Fiday Fights 127 will feature Thai southpaw Worapon Lukjaoporongtom faces surging star Kongkula Jitmuangnon in a 142-pound Muay Thai clash that promises fireworks between two skilled technicians in the main event. Standing across him will be 19-year-old Kongkula, who has captured attention with his venomous left body kick and six-fight winning streak. The young Thai discovered Muay Thai through temple fights and recently moved to Jitmuangnon Gym to elevate his training. Kongkula dreams of following in the footsteps of Thai superstars Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Tawanchai PK Saenchai.
In the co-main event, Australian pressure fighter Tyson Harrison squares off with already-contracted Iranian technician Parham Gheirati in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout between two of the division’s breakthrough stars. Also featured on the card, Bulgarian kickboxer Bogdan Shumarov returns to lightweight action against Poland’s Maciej Karpinski in a clash between two aggressive European strikers. Shumarov, who earned his spot on ONE’s main roster with a spectacular knockout in his promotional debut, brings his Dutch-style kickboxing and explosive finishing ability from his SB Gym training base in the Netherlands. The 28-year-old from Bulgaria has collected multiple titles across Europe and looks to continue his ascent. Meanwhile, Karpinski enters riding a four-fight winning streak that includes a recent TKO victory. The 29-year-old Polish striker combines high-volume boxing with chopping low kicks in his aggressive Dutch-kickboxing approach, making this a guaranteed striking showcase.
