Saclag scores another TKO in ONE Friday Fights

Saclag scores another TKO in ONE Friday Fights

Jean Claude Saclag started the year with a bang after stopping his opponent during the first round in ONE Championship’s Friday Fights 94 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The heavy hitter from Team Lakay made his presence felt with devastating blows early in the first round that saw him connecting a body shot that sent Fajar to the floor then finished the Indonesian with his aggressive ground and pound.

Fajar, a grappling specialist, right at the sound of the bell knew he does not have a chance against Saclag’s highly striking game and tried to bring the fight to the ground.

But Saclag, a three-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist in kickboxing, had another thing in mind.

“Our game plan, if he wants to stand up with me, I will knock him out, and if he wants to go to the ground, I will submit or dominate him,” said Saclag in a post – fight interview.

Saclag’s victory is a follow up to his impressive debut last year where he also finished Lee Jun Young in 1:47 of the first round.

With his impressive first round TKO, MMA analysts are saying there is a possibility that Saclag is in the mix of being signed to a six-figure contract, given ONE Championship’s commitment to discovering and nurturing top-tier talent from Southeast Asia.

Saclag’s impressive performance in his two fights and his ability to connect with fans make him an ideal candidate for this kind of platform.

This contract, often awarded to promising talents who exhibit exceptional skills and marketability, would elevate Saclag’s career to new heights and allow him to compete on ONE’s global stage.

“There is a possibility he will be given another bout immediately with his impressive showing last Friday,” said coach Mark Sangiao.

While Saclag’s call-up in the main roster of ONE can wait, the former Asian kickboxing gold medalist says he will continue to work and improve on his skills and be ready if given a call.

“Everyday, I’m at the gym, keep improving and ready for any call anytime. I’m ready,” added Saclag
